Hansie
When farmer, Hansie Becker, joined the Noorsveld Chicken family, he started small by housing 1000 birds, he then increased his capacity to 3500.
As of January 2017, Hansie can house 17 000 chicks on his farm. He notes that being in this business, he cannot go anywhere, he does not trust anyone else to look after his birds!
Hansie shares his farm with his wife and two sons. His one son will most likely follow in his footsteps where it comes to farming, the other is more IT orientated.
He refers to chicken farming as incredibly rewarding, even though it requires most of your time and effort.
